Three ‘Hours of Code’ at Authority Partners

On May 10th, 11th and 12th Authority Partners held the “Hour of Code“ event for 90 pupils of 3 primary schools – Saburina Sarajevo, Srednje Ilijas and Ilidza. The event was organized in cooperation with the Civil Society Promotion Center, and is promoted as the largest learning event in history, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics.

Kids aged 7-15 years were, through simple and fun exercises, introduced to the basics of programming by AP Lab Mentor. But that’s not all – they were in for a big surprise when AP Lab Mentor and interns demonstrated how they programmed Lego Mindstorm EV3!

It was a fun and educative session of coding with a lot of enthusiasm and interest from the kids who attended. It was amazing to see youngsters from 7 to 15 years of age interested in programming and we are positive that they will be great programmers one day!

The Hour of Code™ is a nationwide initiative by  Computer Science Education Week and Code.org to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming. The campaign has turned into a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 170+ countries.
