On July 30, 2020, Authority Partners will be hosting online Dev Talks Meetup! The event will be organized via MS Teams from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The Dev Talks Meetup is designed for sharing knowledge and experience. It covers two advanced industry topics and serves as a platform for learning the latest in IT and engaging in discussions and networking with peers. We are bringing top-notch lecturers from Authority Partners, two hours of interesting topics, as well as networking.
First Talk
Luis Alberto Estevez Tamares, Database Administrator at Authority Partners
Luis Alberto Estevez Tamares is a Database Administrator in Authority Partners. He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, but he grew up in the United States. He returned to his hometown when he was fifteen years old. He graduated Computer Science from the National University Pedro Henriquez Urena in Santo Domingo. Technology has been his passion since he was a child, and that love was his guide in choosing a professional career. Luis has over 16 years of experience as a Database Administrator. He is happily married and has three beautiful children. The witty Luis says that his favorite cardio is running after his two boys.
Intelligent Query Processing in SQL Server 2019
Microsoft expanded the “Adaptive Query Processing” features of SQL Server 2017 and named them as “Intelligent Query Processing.” This name now covers many new features that involve enhancements to the query engine to improve query performance. The focus of Microsoft is to provide these new features that improve the performance of existing workloads with minimal implementation effort to adopt. During this meetup, we will be looking at some of the main features to see how we can benefit from them.

Francisco Emanuel Mercedes Dotel, Software Developer at Authority Partners
Francisco Emanuel Mercedes Dotel is a Software Developer at Authority Partners. He is born and raised in the Dominican Republic, and he started programming when he was only sixteen years old. By his 25th birthday, he was already building and architecting financial systems for multinational startups. Francisco has over nine years of experience in Software Development, but Software Architecture, Containerization, and Cloud computing are his passion. In his free time, Francisco says he loves to dance with no preference for music but Is also interested in politics, economics, science, and space.
Clean Architecture – Abstracting and Deferring the Details
This topic is Inspired by the Clean Architecture book and talks by Robert C’ Martin and will cover the experience in dealing with Software Architecture. In an opinionated manner, we will be learning from mistakes and will be driving into comprehending what matters when it comes to architecting systems and what decisions are essential to make at the beginning.
