On November 21, 2019, Authority Partners will be hosting the Dev Talks Meetup! The event will take place in the People’s (Kranceviceva 20) from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
DEV Talks is designed for sharing knowledge and experience. It covers two advanced industry topics and serves as a platform for learning the latest in IT and engaging in discussions and networking with peers. We are bringing top-notch lecturers from Authority Partners, two hours of interesting topics, drinks, and food, as well as networking.
First Talk
Arnela Harba, Software Architect
Arnela is a Software Architect at Authority Partners. She decided to pursue IT engineering as a profession because programming seemed to be very challenging. Arnela holds a Master’s degree from Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo. In 2014, Arnela attended AP Lab – Talent and Innovation Center, where she extended her knowledge with practice. She has joined Authority Partners right after, where she has been working for almost six years. Last year she had an opportunity to have a different perspective of internship, this time as an AP Lab Mentor. In her free time, Arnela enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
“Building MVP with Microservice Architecture”
How many times have you got a chance to build a product from scratch and deliver it in iterations within the short deadline? This topic describes the personal experience of building MVP from just a few user stories, using a microservice architecture with both good and bad sides. This lecture will cover – the questions that might be helpful when choosing between the latest technology stack and monolith ‘just get it done’ architecture; the elaboration on challenges using a microservice architecture in the very first phase of software; and pros and cons.
In the end, if we add even the smallest functionality to defined MVP, then we can ask ourselves, how minimal is the minimum?
Second Talk
Melina Jahic, Software Engineer
Melina Jahic is a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead at Authority Partners. In 2014, she attended the first AP Lab internship session. Melina started her career as a software developer, working on internal company projects. Soon she has been promoted to a team lead position, leading teams up to 10 people at the time. Melina continued her career in the mortgage industry, working on all phases of the development lifecycle, where she used her technical and communication skills to improve overall business for the client. She is now a lead in a cross-functional team. Melina manages different skill sets of her team members, which gives her unique expertise and vision on how to approach and successfully solve challenging tasks.
