Are you ready for the July edition of Dev Talks Meetup? This time Enes Lisovac, Solution Architect at Authority Partners will discuss a significant topic, “What it means to be a true IT professional,” a topic that unfortunately we do not talk much about in the IT industry. Please join us on July 29th, 2021, from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM (CET) / 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (PST) via MS Teams.
Enes Lisovac, Solution Architect at Authority PartnersEnes is working in the IT industry for more than a decade now. He started his career as a Junior Software Developer from a different domain (automation & electronics), so he had additional challenges. He worked on different size projects and in different environments, from startups (small and big) to large legacy enterprise systems with fixed or flexible budget projects and waterfall or agile methodologies. These projects included different domains like online processing of business transactions (escrow concept), healthcare systems for humans and animals, the air travel industry, and the marketing industry. Some problems that he needed to solve through these different projects are: security – especially when it comes to the processing of online transactions, credit card processing and the PCI DSS compliance, integration with a huge number of third party systems in the air travel industry, and implementation of GDPR regulations, big data storage and processing in the marketing industry, designing and implementing AI-powered HIPAA compliant solutions/services for the healthcare industry, and similar.Enes is a true IT Professional and a big fan of the cloud from the very beginning; he tends to develop new solutions in the cloud (Azure & AWS). Besides that, he is a father of two beautiful children and a gym addict, so when he’s not coding, he’s either spending time with his kids or lifting weights in the gym. What it Means to Be a True IT Professional
“I want you to be a professional”– How often do we hear this statement, and do we truly understand what it means?
We bet you hear some stumbling answers that are not very clear or helpful.
The truth is that it is hard to navigate ourselves and to see where do we stand in this “professionalism” universe. Still, we must strive to become professionals, whether junior or senior software engineers.
We need to know when to speak and when to listen, when to lead and when to be a team player.
To be or become a true IT professional, we have to plan in advance and see the “big picture” all the time; we need to be flexible enough to adjust to any changes and know how to self-control.
If things are not going according to plan – What do we do? Are we looking for excuses, or we do our best to put tasks/projects on track?
Are we honest? Do we truly respect others? And do we know When, to Whom, and How to say No?
If you find this topic interesting, please join us.
RSVP early to save your seat. Two days before the event, you will receive the MS Teams link for joining the Meetup. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of our online community and engage in discussions and networking with peers.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
