A two-day conference entitled “The Wonderland of Intelligent Software” was held at Sarajevo’s Meeting Point Cinema and led by Dino Esposito, one of the most prominent software architects of our time.
Over the course of his 25-year career, Esposito has written 20 books and over 1,000 articles. His monthly column, “Cutting Edge,” has been published in MSDN Magazine for the past 22 years, and his books have helped thousands of .NET and ASP.NET developers and software architects evolve professionally. He has 10,000 coaching hours under his belt, and he has presented at more than 500 conferences. As the recipient of 15 MVP Awards (Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional Award), his articles are held in high regard and published regularly in Microsoft’s technical publications. Esposito currently represents JetBrains, where his focus is on the development of Kotlin and Android. He is also a member of the team that runs WURFL, the database used by Facebook and Google for mobile devices.
As Esposito shared, “In software, as in life and love, in the beginning everything is a coincidence. Equally, in the end, it all comes down to fault tolerance!” Witty, and possessing plenty of Italian charm, Esposito explained what he really does: “When you begin to live and love, or look at the world through software development, you are always first faced with a lack of role models to compare yourself to, but over time, things become clearer. That process is terribly slow at the beginning, but it accelerates drastically as time goes on. It isn’t always a safe and cozy path. It can be steep and full of uncertainty. You must stop every step of the way to ask yourself if you have made the right decisions, turned at the right intersections, and to see what else you are missing. That’s how it goes in life (and in love) because, as humans, we are intelligent beings. It’s the same thing with software,” concluded this world-famous expert.
Mirano Galijašević, Chief Architect at Authority Partners, opened the conference with the following: “For many years I have wanted to bring Dino to Sarajevo. We finally managed to make the organizational preparations in the final quarter of last year, and here we are organizing this major event. Now I’m extremely happy to be here. We are a company that actively promotes better educational opportunities for young people. We are constantly looking for talents, whom we will provide with opportunities to develop, on both a personal and professional level. We care about the community in which we operate, and we want to be involved in its development, thus creating a better place for all of us to live.” Mirano added that he genuinely believes that this conference is just the foundation for some great events to come.
During the two-day event, which was organized by Authority Partners, BiH’s leading IT company, Esposito talked about artificial intelligence and the challenges facing software development. On the first day, he focused on the development of artificial intelligence and its real-world applications, while on the second day, he took a “more pragmatic” approach by examining, along with the participants, the use of cutting-edge technologies in daily life. A large number of IT experts from BiH and the region were in attendance.
